Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative agriculture is a conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming systems that focuses on regenerating topsoil, increasing biodiversity, enhancing ecosystem services, supporting biosequestration of carbon, increasing resilience to climate change and strengthening the health of farm soil. It is not a single technique but combines a variety of sustainable agriculture practices, including maximal recycling of farm waste and the addition of composted material from non-farm sources. Its proponents say the approach can help mitigate climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and sequestering it, and interest in this form of carbon sequestration has grown among both individual farmers and larger groups, though such claims have also drawn criticism from scientists.
