Vegetable Crop Diseases

The fungal diseases of vegetable and vegetable-adjacent field crops gathered under this group, principally the cucurbit family of cucumber, melon and squash relatives, the brassica or crucifer family of cabbage, mustard, canola and their relatives, and solanaceous vegetables such as tomato. Included are the anthracnose and gummy stem blight pathogens of cucurbits, the white rust, white leaf spot and blackleg pathogens documented on brassica crops grown for vegetable and oilseed use alike, and the leaf spot pathogens of tomato and related nightshade vegetables. Distinct from the diseases of tree fruit, cereal grain and root crops gathered in their own groups here.
