Precision Livestock Farming

Precision livestock farming is a set of electronic tools and methods used to manage livestock, involving the automated monitoring of animals to improve their production, reproduction, health, welfare and impact on the environment. It tracks large animals such as cows on a per-animal basis, while smaller animals such as poultry are tracked per flock, with the whole flock in a house treated as a single unit; this per-flock approach is widely used for broiler chickens.
