Spilocaea oleaginea

Spilocaea oleaginea is a deuteromycete fungal plant pathogen that causes olive peacock spot, also known as olive leaf spot or bird's eye spot. The disease commonly affects the leaves of olive trees worldwide throughout the growing season and can cause significant losses in yield. It also blemishes the fruit, delays ripening and reduces the yield of olive oil. In severe cases it causes defoliation and, eventually, the death of twigs, with long-term effects on the health of infected trees.
