The Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice), formerly the West Africa Rice Development Association, is a pan African intergovernmental association and a CGIAR research organization headquartered in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. Constituted in 1971 by 11 West African countries, it counted 28 African member states by 2023 and has been one of the 15 specialized research centers of CGIAR since 1986.
