Lyle Vanclief is a Canadian agrologist and politician who served as Canada's Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food from 1997 to 2003. A graduate of the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, he represented the riding of Prince Edward-Hastings in the House of Commons from 1988 to 2004 as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, spending six years leading the federal department responsible for farm policy, food safety and agricultural trade before retiring from politics in 2004.
