Junius George Groves

Junius George Groves was an American farmer and entrepreneur remembered as one of the wealthiest Black Americans of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He became known as the Potato King of the World by 1902 after developing potato growing methods that let him out produce any other grower to that point. His financial success, profiled in Booker T. Washington's 1907 book The Negro in Business, gave him the means to help combat racism by creating economic opportunities for other Black Americans.
