Agribusiness Executives and Founders

Figures whose defining agricultural role was building, owning or running a private farming, ranching, processing or agricultural-machinery business: company founders, chief executives, manufacturers and large-scale farmer-entrepreneurs whose significance rests on the enterprise they built rather than on public office or scholarship. It does not include the leaders of farmer cooperatives or membership organizations run for their members' collective benefit rather than private profit (see Cooperative and Farm Organization Leaders), government officials, or agricultural economists whose defining contribution was research rather than enterprise, even when such a figure also had business dealings.
