Clifford Allan Redin Savory (born 15 September 1935) is a Zimbabwean ecologist and a former soldier, farmer, rancher and Rhodesian politician. He is President Emeritus and co-founder of the Savory Institute, and he originated holistic management, a systems thinking approach to managing resources. His planning procedure for land and livestock management, Holistic Planned Grazing, lets farmers, ranchers and pastoralists bunch and move livestock in an effort to restore degraded grassland landscapes. Savory has argued that livestock can reverse desertification and that grasslands could sequester enough atmospheric carbon dioxide to reverse climate change; his ideas are praised by cattle farmers and disputed by some academics, and the origin story of his work is told in the memoir UnSavory: African Stories of Wildlife, War and the Birth of Holistic Management.

This central concept of Holistic Management is most practically applied in Savory's planning procedure for land and livestock management (Holistic Planned Grazing), which allows farmers, ranchers, or pastoralists to bunch and move livestock-when contextually appropriate-in an effort to honor the co-evolved relationships between grassland and herbivores, and as a means to restore degraded landscapes.
