Annasaheb Shinde was an Indian politician and lawyer, born 21 January 1922 in Padali, Nashik district, who trained at ILS Law College, Pune, before entering national politics with the Indian National Congress. He sat in the Lok Sabha across four terms, representing Kopargaon in the 3rd and 4th sessions and Ahmednagar in the 5th and 6th, and between 1966 and 1977 held three successive ministerial roles covering agriculture, beginning as Union Deputy Minister for Food, Agriculture, Community Development and Co-operation in 1966-67 and continuing through further posts spanning food, agriculture, irrigation and community development until 1977, a period covering India's Green Revolution years. He died 12 January 1993 in Shrirampur, Maharashtra, at age 70.
