Fernando Abril Martorell was a Spanish agricultural engineer and politician who served as Spain's Minister of Agriculture from 1976 to 1977, in the government that governed in the months after Francisco Franco's death. A founding member of the Union of the Democratic Centre (UCD) and a leader of the party in the Valencia region, he trained as an agricultural engineer and held doctorates in that field and in political science. After leaving the agriculture ministry he became one of the government's most powerful figures, serving as deputy prime minister and minister of economy through 1980, and he was one of the drafters of Spain's 1978 Constitution. He died in Madrid in 1998.
