Halo blight

Halo blight of bean is a bacterial disease caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola, a gram-negative, aerobic, polar-flagellated, non-spore-forming bacterium. The disease was first identified in the early 1920s and rapidly became a major disease of beans worldwide. It is favored by moderate temperatures and conditions where plentiful bacterial inoculum is available.
