The Nili-Ravi is a breed of domestic water buffalo from the Punjab region shared by Pakistan and India, found across districts including Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Multan, Okara, Sahiwal and Sheikhupura in Pakistani Punjab and Amritsar, Firozpur and Gurdaspur in Indian Punjab, and exported as far as Brazil, Venezuela, China, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. It is black or brown coated, reared mainly for dairy use, and is similar to the Murrah breed; males weigh about 700 kilograms and stand 135 centimetres, females about 600 kilograms and 125 centimetres, with an average milk yield near 2,000 kilograms a year and a recorded best of 6,535 kilograms in a 378-day lactation.
