Holland Lop is a small lop-eared rabbit breed developed in the Netherlands in the 1950s by the breeder Adriaan de Cock, who set out to combine the compact body of the Netherland Dwarf with the lopped ears of the English Lop and French Lop. The result is one of the smallest lop-eared breeds, with a stocky, muscular body and ears that hang close to the head rather than trailing to the ground like a full-sized lop. Imported to the United States in the 1970s, Holland Lop went on to become one of the most widely kept pet and show rabbit breeds in the country, valued for its compact size and docile temperament.
