Dorset Horn

Sheep and Sheep Breeds

An endangered British breed of domestic sheep documented from the seventeenth century, distinguished among British sheep breeds by being the only one capable of breeding throughout the winter, which lets it produce two lambing seasons in some years. It is the ancestral breed behind the polled Poll Dorset, a separate live entity of this atlas.
