Orville Vogel and the Wheat Behind the Green Revolution

Orville Vogel was an American scientist and wheat breeder whose research helped enable the Green Revolution in world food production. He bred the semi-dwarf wheat variety Gaines by crossing wheat with Norin 10, and that cross raised yields during the Green Revolution. Vogel lived from 1907 to 1991.
