4-H is an American network of youth organizations administered through the Cooperative Extension System, teaching hands-on skills in agriculture, science, healthy living and citizenship through local clubs and county-fair projects. It grew out of early-1900s boys' and girls' agricultural clubs meant to bring university research directly to farm families through their children.
