Chisel Plough

Tillage and Land Preparation Implements

A deep-tillage implement that loosens and aerates soil and breaks up hardpan layers using narrow shanks or chisel points, without inverting the soil the way a mouldboard plough does. Leaving crop residue on the surface as it works, it is a standard tool of conservation and reduced- and no-till row-crop farming, cutting soil compaction while limiting erosion. Connections

Associated With

field cultivators commonly follow chisel ploughing as secondary tillage to break clods and prepare the seedbed

chisel plough is a heavy primary-tillage variant of the plough, using shanks instead of a moldboard

subsoiler shanks for breaking hardpan are frequently mounted on or used alongside chisel plough frames in conservation tillage

Entity-backed identity for the power-source enum value this implement already carries, resolved to an agriculture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The power-source fact itself stays on the implement unchanged.
