Cochliobolus sativus

Fungal Diseases of Crops

Cochliobolus sativus is the fungus whose asexual form, Bipolaris sorokiniana, is the causal agent of a wide variety of cereal diseases, infecting roots, leaves, stems and head tissue. Cochliobolus sativus itself is extremely rare in nature, so it is the asexual stage that actually causes infections; the two most common diseases it causes are spot blotch and common root rot, mainly in wheat and barley. Fungus, Concepts

Entity-backed identity for the agent-kind enum value this pest or disease already carries, resolved to an agriculture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The agent-kind fact itself stays on the pest or disease unchanged.
