Erythricium salmonicolor

Erythricium salmonicolor is a species of fungus in the family Corticiaceae, producing effused, corticioid, smooth, pinkish basidiocarps on wood. It is a commercially significant plant pathogen, especially in Brazil, causing Pink Disease in a wide range of hosts including citrus, rubber and cacao trees. Pink Disease produces branch and stem die-back through canker formation, with cankers recognizable by gum exudation and longitudinal splitting of the bark.
