Eleanor Anne Ormerod (1828 to 1901) was a pioneering English entomologist who became one of the first people to define the field of agricultural entomology. Working from her own studies in agriculture, she published an influential series of articles on useful and harmful insects in the Gardeners' Chronicle and the Agricultural Gazette, along with annual reports drawing on a network of correspondents across Britain from 1877 to 1900. She served as an honorary consulting entomologist to the Royal Agricultural Society of England without pay, and she promoted the use of paris green as an insecticide.
