Pedro Antonio Sanchez San Martin (1940 to 2026) was director of the Agriculture and Food Security Center and director of the Millennium Villages Project at the Earth Institute at Columbia University, and served as co-chair of the United Nations Millennium Project Hunger Task Force. He was director general of the World Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, from 1991 to 2001, and was professor emeritus of soil science and forestry at North Carolina State University. He received the 2002 World Food Prize.
