Heidi Kuhn, born around 1960 in California, is the founder and chief executive of the nonprofit organization Roots of Peace, which clears landmines from former conflict zones around the world and returns the land to productive agricultural use. She received the World Food Prize in 2023 for this work. In October 2024 the Kuhn Initiative for Post-Conflict Development Studies was established in her honor at the University of California, Berkeley's Center for Middle Eastern Studies.
