Elvin Charles Stakman (1885 to 1979) was an American plant pathologist and a pioneer of methods for identifying and combatting disease in wheat. He became internationally renowned for his studies of the genetics and epidemiology of stem rust, and is credited with helping to improve crop yields in North America and worldwide as part of the Green Revolution.
