Christian Jensen

Christian Jensen became one of the largest and most successful cattle and sheep ranchers in southern Alberta, at one point owning a flock of ten thousand ewes. Beyond his own ranching operation he took an active part in agricultural public affairs, serving on the provisional board of the Alberta Wheat Pool and helping organize wheat pools in other provinces, and he was a strong supporter of the Canadian Co-Operative Wool Growers, eventually becoming its president. In his home area he served as president of the Magrath Irrigation District, seeing irrigation projects he championed carried out across southern Alberta. He was inducted into the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame in recognition of these contributions to Canadian agriculture.
