The multi-generational process by which a wild species becomes genetically bound to people, changing in body and behavior until it depends on cultivation or husbandry to survive: grains that hold their seed instead of shattering, animals that tolerate the herd and the hand. It is the founding event of agriculture and of this atlas; every crop and livestock entity here passed through it.
