Agricultural Productivity

Agricultural productivity is a measure of agricultural output relative to the inputs, land, labor, capital or a combination of all three, used to produce it, most commonly expressed as yield per unit of land or as output per farm worker. Rising agricultural productivity, achieved through mechanization, improved varieties, fertilizer and irrigation, is what has let a shrinking share of the world's workforce feed a growing global population, though the same rise is measured very unevenly between high-input and low-input farming regions.
