Colonial and Historical Agricultural Administrators

Figures who served a colonial government's department of agriculture, forestry or botanic research before their territory's independence, from provincial directors of agriculture in British India and the Federated Malay States to advisers to the Colonial Office and administrators of the pre-independence government of the Territory of Papua and New Guinea. It does not include a figure whose later, dominant public role was as a minister or official of an independent national government (see Agriculture Ministers and Government Officials), even when an early career began under colonial administration; the deciding fact is whether the agricultural office itself was a colonial-era post.
