The Guernsey is a breed of dairy cattle from the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, fawn or red-and-white in colour and known for being hardy and docile. Its milk is rich in flavour, high in milk-fat and milk protein, and has a high content of beta-carotene that gives it a golden-yellow tinge. It is one of three Channel Island cattle breeds, alongside the Jersey and the now-extinct Alderney.
