Jaisalmeri Camel is a breed of dromedary camel native to the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan in northwestern India, one of the breeds documented and studied by India's National Research Centre on Camel, headquartered in nearby Bikaner. It is recognized among Indian camel breeders as a tall, lean and notably swift animal, qualities that have long made it prized for riding and for military and border-patrol use in the desert terrain of western Rajasthan along the India-Pakistan border. Along with other Rajasthani camel breeds it has served the desert communities of the region for transport, pack work and milk, and it remains one of the breeds bred and conserved through organized Indian camel research and breeding programs today.
