Robert William Hanbury, born February 24, 1845, and died April 28, 1903, was a British Conservative politician who represented Tamworth, Staffordshire North and Preston in Parliament over three decades and served as Financial Secretary to the Treasury from 1895 to 1900. He was appointed President of the Board of Agriculture in November 1900 by the Marquess of Salisbury and continued in the post under Arthur Balfour until his sudden death from pneumonia while still in office in 1903. He received the Freedom of the City of Glasgow in 1901 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society shortly before his death.
