John Hugh Hare, 1st Viscount Blakenham, was a British Conservative politician, born 22 January 1911, who served as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food from 1958 to 1960 under Harold Macmillan, having previously been Secretary of State for War from 1956 to 1958. After agriculture he served as Minister of Labour from 1960 to 1963, when he was elevated to the peerage as Viscount Blakenham. Under Alec Douglas-Home he served as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Deputy Leader of the House of Lords from 1963 to 1964, and he chaired the Conservative Party from 1963 to 1965. He died 7 March 1982.
