Jack Cunningham, Baron Cunningham of Felling

John Anderson Cunningham, Baron Cunningham of Felling, born August 4, 1939, is a British Labour politician with a thirty five year parliamentary career representing Whitehaven and then Copeland. He served as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food from May 2, 1997, to July 27, 1998, under Tony Blair, leading modernization efforts at the ministry and working to secure the lifting of European Union export bans on British beef, before moving on to serve as Minister for the Cabinet Office and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, where he chaired a ministerial committee on genetically modified foods. He was created a life peer as Baron Cunningham of Felling in 2005.
