Warren Truss

Warren Errol Truss, born October 8, 1948, in Kingaroy, Queensland, is an Australian politician who represented the electorate of Wide Bay in parliament from 1990 to 2016 and led the National Party from 2007 to his retirement from politics in February 2016. He served as Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry from 1999 to 2005 under the Howard government, overseeing agricultural and forestry policy, before going on to serve as the 16th deputy prime minister of Australia and as Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development under the Abbott and Turnbull governments.
