Bridget McKenzie

Bridget Grace McKenzie, born December 27, 1969, in Alexandra, Victoria, is an Australian politician who has represented the National Party as a senator for Victoria since 2011. She became the first woman to hold the position of Minister for Agriculture, serving from May 2019 to February 2020, during which she focused on agricultural biosecurity measures against African swine fever and implemented Australia's first mandatory Dairy Industry Code of Conduct. She earlier held the portfolios of Sport, Rural Health, Regional Communications and Regional Services, resigned from cabinet in 2020 after a sports grants controversy, and later held ministerial appointments for Emergency Management and Regionalisation from 2021 to 2022.
