David Kelly Littleproud, born September 4, 1976, in Chinchilla, Queensland, is an Australian politician who has represented the Division of Maranoa since 2016 and led the National Party from 2022 to 2026. He served as Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources from 2017 to 2019 under Prime Ministers Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison, and his portfolio later expanded into Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management from 2020 to 2021 and Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia from 2021 to 2022. Before entering federal politics he spent about seventeen years in the financial sector specializing in agribusiness banking, and he resigned the party leadership on March 10, 2026, while remaining a sitting member of parliament.
