Joseph William Ludwig, born July 21, 1959, in Longreach, Queensland, is an Australian barrister and retired Labor politician who represented Queensland as a senator from July 1999 to May 2016. He served as Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry from September 14, 2010, to July 1, 2013, under Prime Minister Julia Gillard, during which he oversaw the temporary suspension of live cattle exports to Indonesia over animal welfare concerns and launched the National Food Plan in May 2013, before resigning from cabinet later that year.
