Clifford Morris Hardin (October 9, 1915 to April 4, 2010) served as the 17th United States Secretary of Agriculture from January 1969 to November 1971 under President Richard Nixon, during which he extended the food stamp program and established the Food and Nutrition Service and the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. He had earlier served as Chancellor of the University of Nebraska from 1954 to 1968.
