Ajit Prasad Jain, born October 6, 1902, and died January 2, 1977, was an Indian politician who took part in the Civil Disobedience Movement of 1930 and later Congress movements during the independence struggle and served as a member of India's Constituent Assembly. After independence he held cabinet rank in charge of the Ministry of Rehabilitation under Jawaharlal Nehru, then served as Union Minister for Food and Agriculture from December 1954 to August 1959, the fifth person to hold that office. He later became the third Governor of Kerala and served in the Rajya Sabha from 1967 to 1975.
