Derick Heathcoat-Amory, 1st Viscount Amory, born December 26, 1899, and died January 20, 1981, was a British Conservative politician best known for serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1958 to 1960 under Harold Macmillan. He was Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries from July 1954, with the role expanding that October to become Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, a post he held until 1958, having earlier served as Minister of Pensions and Minister of State for Trade. He represented Tiverton in Parliament from 1945 to 1960 and later served as Chancellor of the University of Exeter.
