Sayed Marei, born August 26, 1913, and died October 22, 1993, was an Egyptian agricultural engineer and politician who graduated from Cairo University's College of Agriculture in 1937 and became one of the officials who shaped Egypt's agrarian policy through the 1950s and 1960s. He served as managing director of the Supreme Committee for Agrarian Reform after the 1952 revolution, held multiple agricultural ministry posts under both Nasser and Sadat, and later served as Speaker of Egypt's Parliament from 1974 to 1978.
