Gerrit Braks, born in Uden, Netherlands, on May 23, 1933, and died July 12, 2017, was a Dutch politician and agronomist educated at Wageningen Agricultural College who served as the Netherlands' Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries from 1980 to 1989. He later served briefly as Minister of Education and Sciences in 1989 and as President of the Dutch Senate from 2001 to 2003, closing a twenty-six-year national political career grounded in his agronomy training.
