Dame Angela Eagle, born February 17, 1961, is a British Labour politician who has served as Member of Parliament for Wallasey since 1992, holding junior ministerial posts under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown and serving in the shadow cabinet under Ed Miliband before briefly challenging Jeremy Corbyn for the Labour leadership in 2016. After Andy Burnham became Prime Minister in July 2026 she was promoted to the cabinet as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, taking office on July 20, 2026, and succeeding Emma Reynolds.
