Arthur Griffith-Boscawen

Sir Arthur Sackville Trevor Griffith-Boscawen, born October 18, 1865, and died June 1, 1946, was a British Conservative politician whose career was notably marked by a string of lost parliamentary elections that cut short his time in office. He was appointed Minister of Agriculture in the Lloyd George Coalition Government in 1921, but was required to stand for re-election and lost the ensuing by-election at Dudley, partly owing to Lord Beaverbrook's Canadian Cattle campaign, though he secured a seat at Taunton and continued in the post until 1922. He went on to serve as Minister of Health from 1922 to 1923 under Bonar Law, but his political career ended after losing a further by-election at Mitcham in 1923.
