Jose Eduardo de Andrade Vieira was a Brazilian rancher, banker and politician born in Tomazina, Parana, in 1938, and one of the most influential and controversial business and political figures in Parana and Brazil in the second half of the twentieth century. He led one of the country's largest banks and held a Senate seat as well as ministerial office, though his career later included a dispute that cost him his banking business. Affiliated with the Brazilian Labour Party, he served as Brazil's Minister of Agriculture under President Itamar Franco for a first term from September to October 1993, and again from January 1995 to May 1996 under President Fernando Henrique Cardoso. He died in Londrina in 2015.
