Sir Douglas Julian Carter was a New Zealand politician of the National Party, born 5 August 1908 and died 7 November 1988, who represented the Raglan electorate from 1957 until his retirement in 1975. A farmer active in agricultural organisations before entering Parliament, he served as Minister of Agriculture from 22 December 1969 to 8 December 1972, succeeding Brian Talboys and being succeeded in turn by Colin Moyle.
