Sir Brian Edward Talboys was a New Zealand politician of the National Party, born 7 June 1921 in Wanganui and died 3 June 2012 in Invercargill, who represented the Wallace electorate throughout a parliamentary career from 1957 to 1981. He served as Minister of Agriculture from 1962 to 1969, then as Minister of Education, before becoming the seventh Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1975 to 1981 under Robert Muldoon while also serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs; he declined to press an attempted 1980 party leadership challenge that could have made him Prime Minister.
