Murray John Finlay Luxton, known as John Luxton, was a New Zealand politician of the National Party, born 14 September 1946 in Morrinsville and died 16 November 2021 in Wellington, the son of fellow National MP Jack Luxton. He represented the Matamata, Karapiro and list seats in Parliament from 1987 to 2002, serving as Minister of Agriculture among numerous cabinet roles that also included Energy, Housing, Maori Affairs, Police, Commerce, Fisheries and Lands, and later chaired the dairy cooperative body DairyNZ from 2008 to 2015.
