Damien Peter O'Connor is a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party, born 16 January 1958 in Westport, who was first elected to Parliament in 1993 representing the West Coast and later West Coast-Tasman electorates. Having earlier served as Minister of Tourism and Minister of Corrections under Helen Clark, he served as Minister of Agriculture from 26 October 2017 to 27 November 2023 in the Sixth Labour Government under Jacinda Ardern and Chris Hipkins, concurrently holding the Biosecurity, Trade and Export Growth, and Land Information portfolios, and remains in Parliament as a Labour list MP after losing his electorate seat in 2023.
