Sydney Arthur Fisher was a Canadian politician, born 12 June 1850 in Montreal and died 9 April 1921, educated at the High School of Montreal, McGill University and Trinity College, Cambridge. A farmer, he served as Minister of Agriculture under Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier from 13 July 1896 to 6 October 1911, the longest tenure of any Canadian Agriculture minister to that point, and was defeated in the 1911 election that also ended the Laurier government.
